I bought these for my son who has had some Chinese lessons both in a class format and a private tutor. He has been loving getting back into it. The QR codes to download the pronunciation is brilliant, and it's helping me--though my son (despite being as Anglo-Saxon as they get) is constantly correcting my pronunciation. The books are well-laid out and help him to progress his learning. We look forward to further sets--though we've still got a good ways to go with this.

I love these books! They are a great way to introduce basic vocabulary to toddlers and are also easy for mamas to read who may not know a lot of characters. The repetitive nature of each book makes learning new characters a breeze. My only complaint is I wish the books were more sturdy. They are printed on very thin paper and will soon be destroyed by my enthusiastic 1.5 yo.

My two boys love these whole set (10 books) especially coming with audio. I always put the audio on in the car so they can hear it more often. Love the simplicity of graphics & colors, few words in each page. This's perfect for my kiddos! Wish there're more books like this set, I'll definitely buy more!!!

We're having a lot of fun learning Chinese and following the stories. These are perfect for my son. He's picking it up a lot faster than I am, no surprise there. Downloading the soundtrack is key to getting the pronunciation right.

This makes a great coffee table book. Whenever a guest at my home opens it up, they never put it down. The flows are really clever and fun to follow. There are a flow or two that have references to sex, so just be mindful of the intended audience for the book. Besides that, enjoy!

This makes for a quick read and a fun coffee table book. I had originally thought about making a couple of these into wall art, but I didn't want to destroy the rest of the book.

Still trying to figure out the how many second rule if you drop something on the floor. And that includes roadkill in third world countries.Funny and entertaining.

I tried to give Inconsequential Dilemmas a 4.5 stars rating, but I wasn't able to make it work. It is hysterically funny! I gave it to my son and he loves it, too. Only one or maybe two I didn't find as funny. Buy it. read it. You'll laugh out loud!

Hilarious book, a must buy for anyone who loves flow charts and charting out the inconsequential dilemmas of every day life.My friends and I have had many good chuckles.

I bought this for my grandson who is in college.He was reading it out loud to everyone who would listen.It is really a clever twist to routine flowcharts. Somethingthat will appeal to that age group. It was a big hit-score one for grandma!

If you need a good laugh or know someone who does - order this book. The flow charts are funny, imaginative, and smart. It's difficult to pick my favorite charts because they are all so good but "Should I go to law school or start a rock band," "Am I too old to be and this party," and "Should I listen to the voices in my head," are among my favorites. About the Author

Sri M was born in Tiruvananthapuram, Kerala. At the age of nineteen and a half attracted by a strange and irresistible urge to go to the Himalayas, he left home. At the Vyasa Cave, beyond the Himalayan shrine of Badrinath, he met his Master and lived with him for three and a half year, wandering freely, the length and breadth of the snow clad Himalayan region. Back in the plains, he, as instructed by his Master, lived a normal life, working for a living, fulfilling his social commitments and at the same time preparing himself to teach all that he had learnt and experienced. At a signal from his Master he entered the teaching phase of his life. Today, he travels all over the world to share his experiences and knowledge.

This is a very good source of inspiration for serious seekers of God or spiritual truths. The book focuses mainly on Hindu practices but successfully drives the point home that religious bias and prejudices are meaningless. If the seeker is sincere and true in his quest for the truth or God, any religion and path will take you to your goal.A very common sense approach to religion and helps put the horse and the cart in the right perspective. Religion was made for man and not the other way around. Man, his welfare and quest for God comes first. And any religion is only a means to this end.This may be hard to digest for blind believers and followers of orthodox religion who place more importance on the method, rules, regulations and protocols of their preferred religion; where rules become more important than an all embracing love for God and the diversity in his creation.

Everything and more than I expected based on the reviews. I never thought that there could be another spiritual autobiography to compare with 'Autobiography of a Yog.'' This was a compelling and rivering read. It is serious stuff and may be only appreciated by the seriously spiritually-inclined. To the spiritually uninitiated this may seem like a fairy tale which it is definitely not. One slight drawback is the quality of the language. The punctuation needs to be improved since it interferes with smooth reading of the material. Overall it is a spiritual classic.

This fellow has had some really good mystical experiences with powerful yogis and it is hard to put the book down once you start reading it if you are on any kind of a true spiritual path. It is not at the level of Autobiography of a Yogi, but it is great in its own way and should be a must read for anyone who meditates and knows something about the yogic energy arts.

If you're on a spiritual path, and are working on your liberation (although Ramana Maharshi used to say, we are liberated already, why work on it?) you will benefit immensely from this book. The author ("M") writes beautifully about his spiritual development. We meet the great deathless Babaji, Shirdi Sai Baba (who appears in person, although he has been dead many years), and many other saints too numerous to mention in a review. Sri Ramakrishna and Vivekananda are discussed, and we meet monks (swamis) of the Ramakrishna Order. Truth is eternal, which means it does not change. Knowledge is acquired, but truth exists. As Jesus said, the truth shall set you free. Or as Socrates put it, know thyself. The author lived all this himself, and warns us that much of it will be hard to swallow.There is so much to absorb in this book, it will take many readings. Thankfully, we don't have to deal with the likes of sloppy translations from the New Testament, where those who did the various translations had little real understanding of what Jesus taught.

What a wonderful treasure for the devotional seeker of God! I have thanked Sri M (by email) for his story and his faithfulness. In his description of his spiritual journey, he includes visits with many saints and sadhus. His discussion of meeting Mahavatar Babaji is thrilling, and the yogi who becomes his guru (at Mahavatar Babaji's command) talks of his experience with Sri Shyamacharan Lahiri Mahasaya (documented in Yogananda's Autobiography of a Yogi).There are super- and supra-rational experiences related, which are astounding but believable; but rather than describe them here, I heartily recommend to the reader to obtain a Kindle copy of this narrative, and enjoy the journey with Sri M.

Chock full of stories about his time in the Himalayas, easy-to-read while making his mystical experiences seem accessible to the common person.. His Muslim background (he cannot be dismissed as a Hindu nationalist) allows him to show skeptical, modern-day, educated Indians that perhaps there is something in their traditions too, something they should cherish and leverage for themselves and the world. The world needs more people becoming spiritual. The only complaint I have is that it ends rather abruptly. I thought of giving it 4 stars for that, but reconsidered because really this book has achieved its purpose already. ps: apparently there's a sequel coming

It is a living example to us how a humble human being, a persistent seeker, a devoted disciple and moreover, a common man opened up to a special state of mind.There are few things which all of us may not be able to experience. The seeker and elevated, who ascends and descents from the common manâ€™s life, occasionally plunging it to supreme intellectual discussions of heavenly souls. He takes us through the path one travelled chasing the inner calling, yet grounded to full fill his masters wish, taking the divine lamp to another million hearts. Experience, destiny and an infinite power of human mind. Indeed a rare combination.After a read, i come back and stand with a boy named Mumtaz Ali Khan, somewhere close to his backyard jack fruit tree, enjoying the charismatic smile on that young boyâ€™s face. I've been very pleased with this book. I purchased one for each of my vehicles. I have an older edition that I got from a friend that I keep in my house and was very happy with it as well. This is an excellent resource, very well done.

This book is, hands down, the best plant book there is for my part the country. I absolutely love and depend on it, and have given it many times as a gift. It is unfortunate that is has an incredibly stupid name, but .... we live with it. We are very grateful to the Oslands for tremendous efforts obviously put into researching and preparing this book. We have used the previous edition for years, it is very much depended on in our outings.

Photos don't appear to be as clear as in the previous edition--otherwise, a very useful guide.

This is one of the best books produced in 2016. Matti Friedman writes about Israel, the Middle East, and the political and personal implications of war from a unique perspective. Born in Canada and an immigrant to Israel as a teenager, Friedman shares his skepticism towards Israel's military involvement in Lebanon. As a former combat soldier in the Israel/Lebanon conflict that occurred in the 90s and current reservist, Friedman honestly and poignantly paints a picture of a country whose attitude towards war and the military spans from the anti-war mothers of the kibbutzim, to the apolitical teenage soldiers who are performing their compulsory duties as members of a diverse set of troops, to right-wingers who justify war with keeping the country safe from terrorists. It is indeed a complicated country - and while all characters, including the author, share different views of militarism and war, all agree on one common goal: the survival of the world's only Jewish state.As Western consumers of news (whom Friedman is clearly addressing as his audience in this book), we are constantly inundated with images of the Middle East and Israel. Generally, progressive news outlets tend to view Israel's military operations unfavorably - that is, Israel's military tactics are generally criticized, and consumers of the news are not really getting the full picture of the Middle East in general, or Israel's relationship to it. Friedman also has a journalistic background and has covered Israel while working for the Associated Press. These experiences, while not mentioned explicitly in the book, I believe served as motivating factors for the subject matter of this text.The most powerful portion of this text (to me) was the last, when Friedman recounts a visit he took to Lebanon, where he was stationed whilst a soldier in the IDF. As an Israeli/Canadian dual citizen, he could only enter into Lebanon as a Canadian, and had to hide throughout his visit 1) his Jewish identity; 2) his Israeli citizenship; and 3) his service to the IDF. The most powerful part is when he was on his way to the Pumpkin (the outpost where he was stationed in the 90s) in southern Lebanon, and remarks that he "had traveled 12,000 miles (from Toronto) to arrive 20 miles from" where his family's home was located in northern Israel. This gives you a real sense of how serious (and sad) the divide of a border can truly be, especially in a place as volatile as the Middle East.

A good story about the coming of age / rite of passage experience that all young Israeli's go through when they serve in the military. In this instance it was against the backdrop of serving in the buffer zone of southern Lebanon in the mid-nineties. The buffer was supposed to prevent terrorists from infiltrating into northern Israel but the isolated strongpoints ended up being targets for Hezballah attacks. Many Israeli military casualties were incurred which led to protests in Israel and ultimately withdrawal from Lebanon. Years later the author visits Lebanon and hears the Hezballah account of the conflict. The Israeli withdrawal was considered a victory by Hezballah.This is a good account of citizen soldiers serving in direct defense of their country.

Pumpkinflowers. A book about Israel v. Lebanon. I don't know how I stumbled across this book but I'm grateful that I did. I almost didn't read it. I'm not enamored of soldier stories and when he explained his layout of topics, I thought, "Nope. This is not something that will interest me at all." But then despite that thought I began to read. Short chapters, many about 5 pages. Easy segments. By the end of the first chapter I knew I had found something special. Something to really delve into. A story of soldiers as people, people integrated into two societies -- the military and real life. If they survive. Moving. Humanizing. Contemplative. Brilliant. I highly recommend it. Pumpkin is where they were stationed. Flower was their slang for the dead. Read it. Moving.

A well written account of a forgotten war where young Israelis were wounded and died protecting the North of Israel in the buffer Zone between Lebanon and Israel in the nineties. At an out post called the Pumpkin Friedman describes the events over these years in simple but powerful language.Battling Hezbollah militants in a time when the 'suicide bomber' was yet to make a mark, the boys on the Pumpkin obeyed orders and wished for the normal life of a teenager. This story is a tribute to those boys, some of whom never returned to their families and a look at the political climate of Israel and the Middle East at the time.Israel is a country forever struggling to maintain their sovereign right to the land surrounded by hostile countries who would like to annihilate them.I can't imagine how it would be to live with the constant threat of rockets being fired over the border into the country and almost daily attacks on the population by suicide bombers and the like.I'm sure everyone would like to see peace in the area but that seems like a pipe dream with the ever growing threats and hostilities.

A soldiers story and one from a sensitive one.As Friedman writes, nothing may be as it seems, especially as it may have been reported by an ignorant , willfully so or not , press. It is not as much a story as a memoir but because it strips away any pretension , or false bravado ,from the author's ( and I suspect by extension others' ) combat experience while recognizing both his and their fears and bravery it is well worth reading. Interestingly, Friedman visits "undercover" and after his military service that area of Lebanon under Hezbollah control in which he had been in combat. That further provides Friedman and therefore the reader with a personal perspective of war that other books seldom do.

To understand where we are it is necessary to understand where we have been. In beautiful prose and a compelling narrative Pumpkinflowers leads you back in time to a forgotten past that gave birth to the present. A people. A nation. A war that has spread far and wide from a small forgotten hill in south Lebanon. We owe a debt of gratitude to the author who has gifted us with this memory. I feel it's weight. To remember. To pass it on. Never to forget. Read this book.

I would give 0 stars if I could. This is not a book, it IS A JOKE. Itâ€™s not even edited for language or formatted to fit the pages correctly. The writing is horrible. Itâ€™s super thin and doesnâ€™t contain any really valuable information. What a joke. These reviews are probably all fake.

Iâ€™m so mad that I paid for this. You can get the same information off of Wikipedia for free. I know itâ€™s a beginners book, but it was so high level that it provides almost no value. The book is basically an intro for a real lean six sigma book. Do not waste your money like I did.

This is great beginning stage for anybody wishing to finish one of testaments in LSS or just to discover more about it. This was a really good book, broke it down in simple terms and covered everything, would definitely recommend it to anyone.I needed to get a quick overview of what Lean Six Sigma is and this book definitely delivered. I now have a clear understanding about the next steps I need to take in order to implement it.

This book really opened my eyes to a structured way to grow your business by means of influencers. The author does a great job at making the material totally doable. Each chapter walks you through the process and is very encouraging. You donâ€™t have to know a thing about influencer marketing which is perfect for an early stage entrepreneur like me.I found the parts about leveraging local influencers especially helpful. Itâ€™s easy to fall into the trap of chasing celebrities but there are far better ways to spend your time and this book shows you how.I love how the author stresses win-win strategies and promotes authenticity. This was important to me because networking in general sometimes makes me feel sleazyâ€¦there was no shower needed after reading this book. I happily only encountered positive vibes throughout this fantastic text and look forward to implementing the steps in my own business.

This book is fantastic! I purchased the digital and physical copy so that I can have one version on my Kindle and the paperback version so that I can bookmark pages of high interest. Problem is, I want to bookmark almost every page! I just started three, count them, three (3) businesses as a side hustle and I'm looking to use the information in this book to help me succeed. I see a real need to implement the stratigies in this book to build relationships with influencers in every one of my new ventures. Cloris dispells the fear of reaching out to those who have already attained the success I desire, with up close & personal examples of her own journey to savvy entrepreneur. I feel like I can do the things she is teaching because she even includes bonus templates to help me get started! It seems I now have no excuses!

Quoting Cloris Kylie's own words "sometimes you only need to find others who would help you to gain momentum and get over the initial hump" I got this book to hear the author's perspective on how to get over the initial hump. I'm glad I did for I cannot wait to impliment some of the wealth of information in this book!I like that Beyond Influencer Marketing is written from the writer's own personal experience and its structure is based on what has worked for the writer, all weaved through strategies, stories and examples.If you are a coach, consultant or any service provider, do yourself a favor and get this book. Not only will you get invaluable information but you will simultaneously adopt the correct mindset to help you avoid roadblocks, become influencer ready, build long-lasting relationships and more. Highly recommended!

Reading just one chapter makes it clear that Kylie knows her stuff (but read the WHOLE book for rich nuggets of information you can use to bring your business to the next level). Her writing is clear and crisp, allowing the reader to digest the information and absorb the concepts. Kylie has an uncanny ability to translate complex ideas, tasks and processes into readily manageable actions, which is key for business owners that need to focus on speed and results.I especially appreciated Kylie's integrity, which is imbued throughout this helpful book. While it would be easy to see this great book as "just a business book" on influencer marketing, it's much more than that. Throughout the book, Kylie relates real life examples and stories, always underscoring values and integrity. Rather than coming from a place of "me, me, me", Kylie focuses on the value the reader can first provide to others and then only work with resources that match their principles. This approach makes her a strong, credible authority and she demonstrates how good guys can finish at the top.Great book for learning and an even better resource guide to return to over and over again. I loved the Kindle version so much that I'm going to publish the physical copy, too. Will be great to add notes to it as I listen to her podcast!

Whether if your starting your business or already been in business for awhile , this book is a must read!!! You will learn powerful ways on how to build relationships with influencers. Its not as hard as you think but you do need to put some effort on your end. You need learn how to find influencers, how to research them, different way to connect to their audience, common mistakes people make during outreach etc.Most of all I like how the author focuses on build a long term relationship rather then just having a one time interaction and you disappear. You need to be strategic in your approach where both you and them win all round. Highly recommend this book.

You can tell that this author really knows the subject, this is much more than just a brief overview of the topic it is a guidebook from an expertAs an author and business consultant, I recognize the value in this book and will be sharing it with many of my clients as they are starting to build and grow their businessI highly recommend it.

Cloris Kyle really took her time to produce a truly actionable book. I liked that the book was relevant to just about any area of business including the service field.Each chapter explains (simply) an aspect of influencer marketing, but at the end, you have homework! If you follow along, youâ€™ll have a great foundation and begin to see results.The best part for me was the examples of interactions Cloris had with various influencers.
