He is an excellent writer. Have enjoyed everything of his I have read. Makes you sit on the edge of your chair while you are reading it, and really hard to put down until you finish it.

Definitely hard to put down material. Immediately clicked "buy" on the 6-10, just take my money please ;) This goes far beyond a quick glance of the "Race Wars" cover. So very much more here on many levels to examine. DW does a tremendously tasty job of putting this together. Character and plot development is all quite professional and well done. Highly recommended. I don't read much "fiction" but this was a great read. The bad part, is I can see a lot of this potentially not being so fictional these days. Read, and reflect... Bravo DW, you're never disappointing.

This was a cool book!! Sorry but cool describes it very well. The pace was fast with characters you could really look forward to seeing what would happen to them. I have to admit theres a slight resemblance to the S. King book The Stand but only superficially. The story line is alot of fun to follow and it constantly surprises you with the unexpected twists it takes. Buy this book if you like action and suspense, You wont be disjointed!!

Upon reading this, the beginning of the series, I have become both wanting to continue and finding I'm more worried and frightened than ever in our present day situation because it seems as though this is where America is headed. My only hope is that this will never come to pass. I will continue

Author has done a great job not only with character development but this story line is scary in a lot of things have happened or are happening now. Hopefully this will wake people up !

It is written in an action packed style with good descriptions of all characters .It makes you wonder if maybe the author has inside information on what is happening in this country and then put it in this book . It would explain a lot . Especially about the race baiting and whose behind it . I think most of us already know we have a 'Rogue Government' that's out of control and nobody seems to want to stop it ? Only time will tell .

I have read a lot of SHTF fiction. This is right up there with the best. Ulsterman definitely has the "insider" info on the current situation in the US. The books stir many emotions. Disgust at the fed "authorities", resignation that some of this is really happening and alarm that my preps may not be enough for me and family. Ulsterman keep up the good work.

So well written it does make you question if the writer is just telling a story or forewarning this country of things to come. A very good engrossing , but chilling read.

Eerily realistic given the recent events in the United States. I want to get the nextinstallment of this saga to see how the author sees it all ending.

About the Author

Distinguished garden designer HENK GERRITSEN (1948–2008) was born in Utrecht in the Netherlands. He trained as an artist and made his living as a painter before turning to garden design. He was the author of several books, and his best-known garden design project in the UK was the reconstruction of the Waltham Place gardens in Berkshire. He also started the Priona Gardens in Schuinesloot in the Netherlands with his friend Anton Schlepers.Piet Oudolf is a native of Holland and originally studied to be an architect. Instead of designing buildings he became the founder of New Wave planting, a movement which takes inspiration from nature but employs artistic skill in creating planting schemes. As a plantsman, his aim is to emphasize the form, texture, and natural harmony of plants, and as a skilled plant breeder, he creates new varieties for these and other design purposes. He has designed gardens in Holland and Germany, and a public park in Sweden. The garden he designed with Arne Maynard for the Chelsea 2000 Flower Show won the Best Garden Award. His own garden and nursery near Arnhem, Holland, has become world-famous.

The book appears to be good reference, but not all plants listed are photographed and there is no information about the plants' water requirements - for instance, are they drought tolerant??? The book size, format, and cover feel is great. The content organization is good - plant types and alphabetical - I would appreciate grouping suggestions.

This is a beautiful and very well-organized, informative, and helpful tool for the home gardener and gardeners of public places, such as office gardens and public parks, who want to use lovely and reliable plants that are hardy, will not invade their neighbors, will not seed themselves so they become troublesome, and demand little attention. Piet Oudolf, a British horticulturalist and landscape architect, describes 1,200 plant species in three parts: Part 1 Tough perennials, grasses, ferns, bulbs,and ferns; Part 2 Playful self-seeding perennials, biennials and tender perennials, and annuals; and Part 3 Troublesome invasive, capricious, and demanding plants who fail the test. Detailed descriptions and information include growing conditions needed, and species that are most reliable.

I love this book. The pictures are beautiful and in color. There is a variety of plants and plant combinations with clear identification of each. I like the overall theme of planting with grasses and low maintenance with such a beautiful outcome. I love that the designs are planned out to have a year round appeal and even though some of the plants may not be available in the US, enough information has been given so that you can find a substitute. So much can be done if you learn the basics and this book does that.

Great for planning a garden or choosing the right perennial for the right place. Also shows the not-so-familiar plants. A wonderful gift to give to a gardener or give to yourself!
